"How We Play It" - Album Review
"How We Play It" by Kingg A is a fresh leap forward from the artist we’ve seen before. Only available on Soundcloud, it was more of a mixtape/EP type of ordeal. Right out of the gate, his sound feels more mature—he’s blending melodies with his signature swagger in a way that makes it clear he’s growing into his own. The production is tight, with smooth beats that push the energy, but it’s Kingg A’s confidence that shines through the most.
Lyrically, he’s less about flexing and more about reflecting, which adds depth to tracks that might’ve just been throwaway bangers in the past. There’s a real sense of evolution here, both musically and thematically. He’s no longer just playing the game; he’s learning how to own it. From catchy hooks to introspective moments, Kingg A really steps up his versatility on this album.
Sure, there are still tracks that hit with that street-ready vibe, but this time, they’re layered with something a little more substantial. “How We Play It” feels like a transition—a young artist finding his voice and stepping into the space where he’s both fun and serious. It’s raw but polished, energetic but thoughtful—Kingg A might’ve just figured out how to play it his way.
